Design that considers how a space feels, not just how it looks.
Feng Shui principles — layout, flow, colour and balance — woven into every Attitude project, and available as a standalone colour and layout consultation.
Attitude Designs Interiors · Castle Hill, Sydney
An ancient design philosophy, applied practically.
Feng Shui is a centuries-old approach to arranging space so it supports the people living in it — through layout, light, flow and balance. At Attitude, we use its core principles alongside standard design practice: as a lens for better layout decisions, not a substitute for them.
We treat Feng Shui as a design tool grounded in flow, light and function — not a guarantee of any specific life outcome.
Applied by Ana Laura Casagrande, founder of Attitude Designs Interiors.
Four ideas we design around.
Each one shown simply, the way we’d sketch it on your own floor plan.
The commanding position
Key furniture — a bed, a desk, a stove — placed so you can see the door without sitting directly in line with it.
- Applied to bedrooms, home offices and kitchens
- Supports a sense of ease and control in the room
- Often reshapes a layout you’d never have questioned
The five elements
Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water — represented through material, colour, shape and texture, balanced across a room rather than dominated by one.
- Timber and greenery bring in Wood
- Stone, ceramics and warm tones bring in Earth
- Metal fixtures, mirrors and curves bring in Metal and Water
The energy map (bagua)
A simple 3×3 grid laid over your floor plan, linking each zone of the home to an area of life — used as a prompt for intention, not a rulebook.
- Helps decide what a room is really “for”
- Guides colour and object placement within a space
- Applied loosely, alongside — never instead of — good layout sense
Clutter & flow
Clear pathways and considered negative space — a room with somewhere for everything moves, and feels, better than one that’s simply full.
- Furniture edited down to what earns its place
- Clear walking paths from door to door
- Storage planned in, so surfaces stay clear
Feng Shui principles, built into every service.
Not a separate add-on — these ideas inform the layout and colour decisions across everything we do.
Property Styling
Furniture placement that supports flow and a commanding view of entry points, for a home that feels right the moment buyers walk in.
Full Interior Design
Layout and material choices considered against the five elements from concept stage, not bolted on at the end.
Remote E-Design
Energy-map thinking applied to your floor plan, wherever you live — part of every mood board and layout plan.
Colour Scheme Consulting
Palettes chosen for balance across the five elements, not just what’s trending.
Grounded in design, not guesswork.
Feng Shui principles at Attitude are applied as part of a genuine design process — considered alongside function, budget and your own taste, not in place of them.
Practical, not prescriptive
We use these principles as a lens for better decisions — your lifestyle and preferences always come first.
Backed by design training
Applied by a trained architect and interior designer, alongside standard planning, materials and lighting knowledge.
Woven in, not sold separately
Included across our services as standard — you don’t need to book a separate “spiritual” add-on to benefit from it.
Feng Shui principles are offered as a traditional design and wellbeing framework focused on layout, light and flow. They’re not a guarantee of any financial, health or personal outcome.
Just want the layout and colour advice? Three steps.
Walk us through your space
In person or over video — your floor plan, how each room is used, and what isn’t working.
We map it
Commanding positions, the energy map and a five-elements colour palette, applied to your actual layout.
You receive a plan
A clear, practical set of layout and colour recommendations you can act on at your own pace.
Before you enquire
Do I need to believe in Feng Shui for this to work?
No. Many of the principles — clear pathways, good sightlines, balanced materials — are simply good design practice, whatever you call it.
Will this involve special objects, crystals or rituals?
No. Our approach is layout, colour and material-led — practical design decisions, not decorative additions.
Is this separate from your other design services?
It’s built into Property Styling, Full Interior Design and Remote E-Design as standard. A standalone layout and colour consultation is also available if that’s all you need.
What areas do you serve?
Castle Hill, the Hills District and Greater Sydney in person. Remote consultations are available Australia-wide.
How do we start?
